Quick fixes for sign-in, usage refresh, and ChatGPT automations.
The Live Activity does not appear
Enable Live Activities for Codex Live Bar in iOS Settings. Start one from the app to verify permission, then confirm both personal automations are set to Run Immediately.
It does not start when ChatGPT opens
In Shortcuts → Automation, confirm the trigger is App → ChatGPT → Is Opened and the action is Start Codex Live Bar.
It remains after ChatGPT closes
Confirm the second automation uses Is Closed and Stop Codex Live Bar. You can also stop it from the app or the Live Activity button.
Usage is stale
Pull to refresh in the app or use Refresh Codex Live Bar. The Live Activity intentionally does not poll continuously in the background.
Sign-in or refresh fails
Check the network, retry sign-in, and confirm the OpenAI account has Codex access. The app relies on an undocumented OpenAI usage endpoint that can change without notice.
Reset everything
Open Settings in Codex Live Bar and choose Sign Out. A fresh installation also clears any retained Codex Live Bar credentials before use.
